Qualification

The deliverables forthe assignment will be detailed in consultation with the consultant and will bein accordance to the contract signed with NIUA. These may include, but will notbe limited to –Designing accessibility assessments and studiesConduct trainingsand capacity building sessionsCritically review and improve DPR’s/technicaldocuments from partner cites and other such deliverables.Closely work incollaboration with local and international technical resources and partners:accessibility experts, digital inclusion specialists, Disabled PeopleOrganization (DPOs), and City agencies. 4. Core competencies for theconsultancy assignment :Experience and in-depth understanding of policies,schemes, inclusive design and planning principles, and implementation ofdisability-inclusive programming, including its intersections with ageing andgender (at least 10 years);Have a working knowledge to collect, analyse,conceptualise data on age, gender and disability (using national data sets,benchmarks, norms and standards);Have a working knowledge of assistive productsfor people including children and older people with disabilityExperience inprogramme management and/or providing technical support to programme teamsand/or partners;Ability to build relationships and work cross-organisationallyand within networks;A commitment towards the following; working to our values,equal opportunities, respect and dignity, health and safety and dataprotection.

 

Experience Requirements

Minimum 10 years’experience in the field of urban planning and architecture, and 5 years’experience practicing inclusive design principles;Or 2.Minimum 10 years’experience in the field of disability law and or disability policy at nationalor international level;3.Demonstrated knowledge in CRPD, RPWD, policy researchon disabilities, universal design principles;4.Demonstrated experience indesigning and implementing urban strategies, structures, systems and proceduresfor programs in disability and inclusion field;5.Demonstrated experience indesigning consultation processes on disability or related issues;6.Demonstratedexperience in writing strategic documents or guidance materials (e.g., policybriefs, strategies, manuals, standard operating procedures, guidelines) inplain English.7.Experience working in India or South Asia will be preferred
